76 Corvette The Cajun Floater

This poor Vette got named 'The Cajun Floater'. It had been completely submerged for two weeks courtesy of hurricane Katrina. The owner managed to get the engine barely running, the tranny flushed out and half the interior removed when he decided to bring it to us to complete.

We gutted the whole vehicle. We replaced everything that was electrical, cleaned up every electrical connection with a brass brush and coated with a dielectric grease, replaced all the instruments, retrimmed the seats in leather, new carpet, new upgraded sound system and flushed out the whole drivetrain. Then we made some upgrades including fitting a factory GM serpentine belt setup to the engine and upgrading the A/C with a high flow condensor with an orrifice tube, a later style compressor and a high flow fan motor. The A/C now blows hard and cold! At the customers request we also refurbed the brake system including new booster, master cylinder, rotors, pads and calipers. This fall we will be upgrading the steering to Rack and Pinion.
