66 Mustang

You will not believe the story behind this gem! A friend of mine bought this coupe to restore / hot rod for his son. After he bought the car and completely stripped it to bare metal, I was called in to take a look at it. That's when I informed him that it was actually the best of two cars welded together - OUCH!! Anyway, from what we can tell the cut and shut was done some time around the late 70's because of the technique used to weld the two cars together.

So far we've replaced both floor pans, both rear quarters and the floor in the trunk on either side of the gas tank. The owner saw a Mustang coupe that had the roof gutters removed and liked it, so we went ahead and shaved the gutters for him too.

This is one of those jobs that is going to progress as the money is put aside for it, so even though it's not in the shop at present, it will be back for more restoration and custom work!
